Our house is located about 1 block south from the flight line to the East/West runway at the airport (and we’re about 1.5 miles east of the touchdown spot), so we get a good bit of planes flying overhead all the time.
Snapped this pic the other day while checking the mail to show how low they are but the picture really doesn’t show it. While sometimes annoying to hear jets at 10-11pm or 6-7am, ( they don’t even need to be flying overhead either. You can hear ‘em land/takeoff going North/ South too if the air is right) its sometimes neat to see some of the larger planes buzz by the house.
But I’d still buy a house on the other side of town :)

You know, I actually stopped hearing the planes after living at Dad’s for so long. And after living fifty feet from a railroad track, I stopped hearing trains, too- which was a feat since they used to blow their horns at full blast *right at our house*. (Is Donna immune to the plane sounds?) Maybe in a while, your ears will start shutting it out and it won’t even faze you. :)

I really don’t hear them unless we’re outside when they pass. Or when Faye goes, “Pwane!” or “Tu Tu Twain!” She still notices them.

Tu Tu Twain! I love it. That’s much more advanced than “Woo-Woo!”, which is what Henry called it. ;-)
