Toy Surgery

Faye has been wanting to turn on her crib nightlight music thing almost every night these days. She pretty much won’t go to sleep if she can’t turn it on.
Needless to say we’ve been burning through batteries for it, so this morning I opened it up soldered in a wire to the battery connections so I can connect a power adaptor. No more batteries.
Also interesting to see how this thing works. Quite the complex gear system for a toy.

Okay, that’s just impressive, Shaun! I have a long list of battery-operated toys in Henry’s room that could use a conversion if you ever feel like making this a side business. :-)

Tell me about it! When he started saying, “hm, well the batteries use DC and the wall uses AC…” I realized that I may have passed Advanced Physics in high school, but Shaun actually KNOWS the stuff. He smart, man.

Yes, he is very smart and very ingenious. I never would have thought of transforming a toy from batteries to hardwire. Way to go Shaun – YOU THE MAN!!!
    Love, MOM
Next time you’re in the neighborhood, you can transform all of Henry’s toys that are here, too.
