New A/C Condenser

Saturday night, we noticed the air wasn’t blowing cold and I found the fan wasn’t running on the condenser outside. A/C Guy came out and replaced the motor that evening and got us back up and running. And then Sunday it did the same thing. So the compressor itself was overloading and dying. So I had to replace the whole unit.

This evening they got the new unit installed outside and then gave us a new (and free) touchscreen thermostat for it. It’s pretty cool, though I think I may upgrade to the fancy color one in a few months. :)

    We have that thermostat…it’s SOOO cool! I opted out on the one that had the exterior webcam and weather forecast (so you don’t have to use your window).

    Ooo… a webcam, heh. The color one (prestige model I think) has an external thermostat and a radio-based remote that we could keep in the bedroom to turn the air on/off without having to get up in the middle of the night.

    He’s neglecting to mention he already has a weather station on the roof and cameras outside the house. So we don’t need those extras on the thermostat. A remote would be cool, though.

    True true… I was just Oooing at it’s geekiness. :)

    But yes, I’d simply like a remote.
