Making Progress

Faye made some good milestones this weekend. First she has discovered she has hands, and more importantly a thumb! She hasn’t quite gained full control of her hands, just kinda flailing them around, so she usually just starts sucking on a knuckle when her hands get by her mouth. Sometimes she’ll manage to get a hold of the thumb though.

The most exciting thing though happened today when Faye managed to roll herself over during Tummy Time!

Since kids these days no longer sleep on their tummy’s, you have to give them tummy time so they can work on their upper body strength, doing things like lifting there head and raising themselves up on their arms, and eventually learning to crawl. The only problem though, babies hate to be on their tummy if they aren’t sleeping. So they cry/scream pretty much during the whole 5-15min process. It sounds cruel, but this “I’m Pissed off!” time helps (makes) them learn how to get out of this situation by rolling over, crawling, etc… Eventually she’ll get her motor skills going and won’t mind it as much.

Faye’s pretty good and lifting her head so, but only made that one rollover today.

And some parting shots of Faye chilling in the recliner today.
