39 weeks – 1 week to go!

Your baby’s waiting to greet the world! She continues to build a layer of fat to help control her body temperature after birth, but it’s likely she already measures about 20 inches and weighs a bit over 7 pounds, a mini watermelon. (Boys tend to be slightly heavier than girls.) The outer layers of his skin are sloughing off as new skin forms underneath.
Whew, had a hard time getting (and staying) asleep last night. It feels like she’s had another growth spurt and I’m getting worried that she’ll be too big for me to deliver. But that’s probably just my anxiousness talking. The doctor said I was 1cm dilated last week and our next appt is tomorrow (Monday). We’ll keep you posted!
