Childbirth Class
Yesterday we took our Prepared Childbirth Class, a 6 hour class about the joys of a (average) 14 hr labor for first pregnancies. Since we missed the January class (it was all booked), Donna was the furthest along of the group. Apparently they say to take the class 10 weeks out. We must’ve missed that memo. Oops.
We learned about techniques to help deal with labor discomfort, watched videos of a regular birth and a c-section (you’re awake with a small hole in your belly, freaky!), and took a tour of the labor/delivery area of the hospital.
The Labor & Delivery rooms look like a hotel suite. They’re big, have a sofa bed, a chair, a private bath, a lcd tv with soothing music and video, and even a waterfall image on the ceiling. All in the hopes of helping you relax. Even the regular post-partum rooms are nice. The bathroom is a whole shower, just open the door and walk in.
I think we’re all ready to go now, and just waiting for whenever Baby “O” decides she’s ready.

Wow, waterfalls on the ceiling! Now *that* is something you don’t see every day. Hee!
