Golden Gate Bridge
Forgot to post these.
On Saturday morning, we took a drive south to the see Golden Gate Bridge, the San Francisco skyline, and the Pacific Ocean. We drove south on US 101 to Conzelman road in Sausalito (last exit before the bridge, right after the tunnel).
The two-way road winds up a cliff side, with 2 or 3 little pull over spots along the way. The first stop is an old fort and gives a great up-close view of the bridge. It was pretty windy and chilly up there too. The others are just runoffs on a turn in the road.
We kept on driving past the turn around (where every else seemed to not wanna past for some crazy reason) and kept on driving on the now one way, one lane road. This portion of the road is really steep and runs along the cliff side with some fun turns. I rode the brakes all the way down at about 15mph (the posted limited) following two people on bicycles.
Spectacular views and a fun drive. If you’re in the area, don’t pass up this area up.
