It’s dead, Jim part 2

Well crap. Warranty expired last month and I nevee had a chance to check and get applecare. If it is indeed the logic as I suspect, total cost of repair for part, labor,tax would be about $750. Ouch!

Think I may just get a new machine eventually. Totally sucks though. :/
